Lake Reintal via ferrata
Via ferrata with two routes offering spectacular views over the landscape and Lake Reintal.
The quick accessibility, the perfect infrastructure (parking spaces, bathing lake, restaurants, bus, eztc.) as well as the short approach and the indescribable view of the lake area and the Lower Inn Valley make the Reintalersee via ferrata a unique experience. In fact, it is one of the most beautiful via ferratas in Tyrol!
Two routes with a rope length of approx. 250 meters were built: route 1, in difficulty level C/D and route 2, a sport-climbing variant “E”, which is attractive for sporty via ferrata climbers due to its steepness.
The access route starts just east of the bus stop “Kramsach Parkplatz Halbinsel”. After a 20-minute walk through the forest you reach the roping point and eventaully the entry point. Tip: take a detour to the beautiful waterfall shortly before the entry point to recharge your batteries and enjoy the view. Allow yourself this time, because the Lake Reintal via ferrata is generally ideal for connoisseurs and impresses with:
- Great views from the rockface over the lake area and Lower Inn Valley
- Recharge your batteries at the beautiful waterfall near the entry point
- Returning from the via ferrata, you can end the day by the lake
The return path takes you via the „Bärengrube“ hiking path back to Lake Reintal (approx. 1 hour).
- Please note the current recommendations of the Alpine Association for the use of via ferratas!
- A via ferrata folder (in GERMAN only) is available in the tourist offices in the Alpbachtal region.
- PLEASE NOTE that the necessary via ferrata safety equipment (helmet, via ferrata set, rope harness, sturdy shoes) is required for climbing a via ferrata. Climbing is at your own risk. Via ferrata set rental available at the Kramsach tourist office and at Sport Ossi in Kramsach.
- Complete climbing equipment set required. Use of the via ferrata is at your own risk. Climbing-set hire at the Lake Reintal kiosk.
- Guided tours may only be conducted by state-certified mountain guides
- The via ferrata is closed from October 1st until Good Friday every year.
