Dragonflies are acrobats of the air and lightning-fast hunters at the pond. Of the approximately 6400 species worldwide, some 50 species are found in Tyrol. As indicator organisms for our wetlands, their presence tells us a lot about the structure and condition of the waters.
The Lake Reintal plateau is one of the most species-rich bodies of water in Tyrol in terms of dragonflies and is therefore a true "dragonfly paradise". Many different wetland habitats are interwoven in a mosaic. On the hike around Lake Reintal and to its outflow, we can see representatives of different dragonfly species in their habitats.
The short hike is easy and not strenuous. No registration required.
