Tips for your Holiday with Dog

Although the Alpbachtal offers many dog-friendly hiking trails, there are some routes that are not ideal for our four-legged companions due to specific conditions. To ensure you can enjoy your time in nature without worries, we want to inform you in advance about these tours:

  • Tiefenbach and Kaiserklamm: These hikes are unsuitable, especially for small dogs, due to steel bridges with grating.
  • Crossing the Sagtaler Spitzen in Alpbach: This challenging tour is better undertaken without a dog.
  • Plessenberg via Schönau, Ruhrer, or Aschaualm: The steep sections can pose a challenge for dogs.
  • Schafsteig in the Rofan Mountains: This route is not recommended due to exposed sections.
  • Via Ferrata in Kramsach: Unfortunately, this alpine climbing terrain is unsuitable for dogs.

In the Rofan Mountains and Brandenberg Alps, water sources are scarce as these are limestone regions! Always carry enough water for your dog.

Alpbach warmly welcomes not only you but also your four-legged friend! To make your stay even more enjoyable, we have created a clear map of Alpbach and Inneralpbach.

The map not only highlights the main paths but also shows the locations of convenient dog waste bag stations. This way, you’ll always have an overview and can fully enjoy nature without any worries. A printed version is also available at the Alpbach Info Office and the municipal office.
