Sonnjoch - Steinbergalm
The hike from Steinbergalm up to Sonnjoch is one of the most beautiful hikes in the Alpbach Valley and is also a true insider tip!
But that's just the beginning! Continuing past the unmanaged Filzalm, which impresses with its natural beauty, you will reach the rustic Steinbergalm from the 16th century after a total of 600 meters of elevation and about 2.5 hours of walking. Here, you can rejuvenate in a cozy atmosphere with Almsenner Hannes Klingler and enjoy the historical alpine charm.
After a hearty refreshment, the hike continues upwards to the summit of the majestic Sonnjoch at 2,287 meters. On your way, you'll pass the charming Otto-Leixl-Hütte, hiking for about 1.5 hours and being rewarded with a breathtaking summit experience. Imagine: the wind in your face, feeling the freedom, and an incredible view. After a rest, you will begin your return journey via the Steinbergalm back to Inneralpbach.
